Created in 2013, the Critical Discourse Analysis Research Center (NEAC - USP) at FFLCH-USP brings together professors/researchers and students at all levels (from Scientific Initiation to Doctorate) who share an interest in discourse studies from a critical perspective. The group seeks to identify - in written/oral texts representative of different discursive genres in different social spheres and produced from the 19th century to the present day - the constitution of discursive genres, the construction of social representations and the configuration of identity. To this end, the aim is to collect data, reflect on multidisciplinary theories and analyze them.
The research carried out within NEAC is linked to Textual Linguistics and Critical Discourse Studies, with a linguistic basis in the systemic-functional and/or cognitive approaches.
The research group is part of the Textual Linguistics and Discourse Studies research line in Portuguese of the Postgraduate Program in Philology and Portuguese Language of the Faculty of Philosophy, Letters and Human Sciences of the University of São Paulo (FFLCH-USP).
